Write for WTAF BC

WTAF BC is an independent citizen journalism platform covering British Columbia — local government accountability, community issues, and the stories mainstream outlets miss. We're looking for contributors who give a damn.

What writing for us looks like

  • Your byline on every piece — real name or pen name, your call
  • Editorial review before publication
  • You retain copyright to your work
  • BC-focused audience
  • Work asynchronously, on your schedule
  • Distribution via social media and RSS

This is a volunteer platform — we don't pay contributors.

What we cover

BC government and municipal politics. Housing, land use, and resource extraction. Indigenous rights and Crown accountability. Corporate influence on public life. Community-level stories the wire services don't bother with. Federal politics as it plays out for British Columbians — Parliament, the Crown, and Ottawa's decisions that land here first.

Tone is independent and direct. We're not a press release outlet. Opinion and commentary are welcome alongside straight reporting. Typical length: 300–700 words for news, 600–1200 for features or opinion.
